CHC30208 Certificate III in Aged Care Work

The CHC30208 Certificate III in Aged Care Work is a course is designed for individuals interested in the aged care industry. Aged care workers provide personal care and assistance for the elderly in residential care facilities. Working in the aged care industry is challenging, but making a difference in the lives of the aged is very rewarding. You will gain all the requirements necessary to meet the needs of the elderly, including physical, emotional and behavioral aspects. Upon completion of this course, it will enable you to gain employment in a wide variety of positions using your specialised Aged Care training.

COURSE STRUCTURE

Successful completion of this course requires the fulfilment of 14 units of study: ten compulsory units and four elective units.

*The Apply First Aid course is not included in the package. However, students can enrol on our Apply First Aid for ONLY $120. Students who hold an Apply First Aid Certificate may claim this as one of the elective units.
Elective units should be selected from the list above, although two units may be selected from units packaged in other Certificate III level qualifications in the Community Service training package or health training package.

Work placement programme
We are one of the only registered training organisations in Australia that actually assist you with getting your work placements. Rather than having to spend every spare minute filling out resumes on job websites or walking around with your resume, our staff will do the work for you:
- Tell us what suburb you are live in.
- Tell us about your availability.
- Consult with our staff to help us come up with the best plan for you.
Then we’ll look for places where you can do your work placement. (If you want more information on work placements please read on below.) We cannot guarantee that we will be successful in getting you a placement (and you will still have to do the hard work once you get the placement), but as of 2009, our success rate was 100% in getting work placements and we intend to ensure that this success rate continues.
COURSE DURATION

The commitment for this course ranges from 470 to 530 nominal hours:
- 20 hours: Simulation/role-playing
- 150 hours: Supervised practical experience
- 60-100 hours: Class time
- 200 hours: Personal reading and assignments

There are two communication channels used to deliver the Certificate III in Aged Care Work:
1) Face to Face Learning
Our face-to-face learning is delivered at JTI, one minute from the safest busiest train/bus stations in Victoria, Glen Waverley Railway Station. Classes are held at a variety of times between Monday and Saturday so as to be convenient and flexible for busy people.
